Yea yea..I know it's been quite a while since I posted. Just never really got around to posting

In case people were wondering(not that anyone remembers after so long) My little nephew is still beating all odds and doctors predictions. It's hard to believe in less than one month he will be 1 year old..o_o. The little toughguy has had 13 surgeries and come through all with flying colors. They are still weaning him off the oxygen that he has had since he left the hospital.

Wow..It has been quite a while since I have posted here.

I haven't even posted an Update on my Nephew in a long time.

Well, the Update is that he's still hanging on...I haven't had a chance to go see him in a while but I am being told he's up to 8 pounds now and isn't hooked up to 5 million tubes anymore. My sister, Her (now)Husband, My mom, my dad and my step mom have all gotten to hold him now and my sister even got to feed him. He isn't completely out of the woods, we aren't sure of the full extent of the brain damage that was done. Apparently what my sister was told is that right now his body is running of a different part of his brain than what was damaged. but that when he hits a year old the brain switches to the part that was damaged..so we will see..

Anywho. I gotta get back to work here...if I get more time later I will post again..XD

Weeee..Such fun. I am sitting here at work..surrounded by balloons and a Chocolate Cake with little red star confetti all over my desk! XD It's nice when people actually remember! (not meant as a jab at anyone on here..meant as a jab at co-workers who forgot last year...XD)

Hi ho, Hi ho, It's off to Yosemite I go! Take care all! I'm off to camp in Yosemite for a week! YAY

Then when I get back it will be a week til muh b-day! weeeeeee! funfun

The circle of light over him is a set of specialized lights because he had a slight case of jaundice, the "earmuffs" are due to how loud the ventilator was.

Weeell...Yesterday evening my step mom and I were out shopping when we got the call we were hoping would wait atleast a few more weeks. My sister was in labor. They were taking her to do a c-section as we spoke because the little girl wasn't in the proper position. Needless to say My stepmom and I dropped everything and left. I went home because it would have been too many people there. My step mom got my sis's bf and dashed off to Cedars.

Good News...My mom heard the baby actually cry! Considering we have been told the lungs wern't working. My mom asked how she was to which she got a "She?" response. Ultrasound was wrong..XD It's a boy! He's only 2lbs. 3oz. But he's alive and kicking. Thats what matters. He's in the NICU and I will be going down to Cedars this weekend.

And on a (somewhat-unrelated) side note: My stepmom and sister were talking about Britney Spears having her baby at Cedars and wondering if they would see anyone. My Stepmom walked out of the room and ran into(literally) Kevin Federline..o_o!..Unfortunately he was on the phone or my Step mom would have asked for his and Britney's autographs..XD

Well..My sister had an extended Ultrasound yesterday to watch the baby for movement and lung function. Both were found! The baby was actually using her lungs! *bounce* My dad and I spent the next hour talking about it. Yay for good news!

Well..My sister is at Cedars now...and the news got even better!

They looked her over with their (now obviously) superior equipment and determined that she actually still has some fluid left at the moment! Needless to say we were shocked. They have told us if she makes it to 24 weeks the kid has a 50/50 chance and every couple of weeks after that they percentage goes up. So she was able to move around a bit before..but No more. She has been put completely on bed rest and can only get up to go to the bathroom that is literally right next to her bed. She is now there for the long haul. She will probably be in there for 3 months...

Though this does prove to us that Our local hospital's equipment needs an upgrade..o_o

Oh. And it looks like the baby is a girl..^_^

Could our prayers have been answered?

Apparently My sister's and her boyfriend's determination to not give up and my sisters constant smile no matter how little hope finally melted the doctor's heart. He apparently spent the last couple of days doing research and found a doctor at Cedars-Sinai with an experimental procedure that raises the baby's chances by alot by replacing the fluid she lost. Which is alot better than the zero chance we have been going on.

So my sister is on the steroids that that doctor asked for and our current doctor is contacting the CS doctor back today to get further details about when/how shes getting there.

Needless to say we are all bouncing around and this larger glimmer of hope. It perked my parents right back up and they had been the most doubtful of all.

My sis's doctor came in to give us the information he knew then expresses that he didnt want my sister to think they were just giving up on her. They told her it wasnt that they didnt want to treat her it was that they were at their limits of what they could do and saw this an an opportunity to save the baby. To us, any doctor looking past ego and pride and saying that he cant do it but someone else may be able to, is a darn good doctor.
